Lisa Phinney Langley - PITCH ARTIST
Lisa Phinney Langley - PITCH ARTISTLisa Phinney Langley is a dance artist with degrees in physics and atmospheric science. Her curiosity in both art and science is rooted in the expression of fundamental beauty, and the belief that diverse perceptions and phenomena can be traced back to a singular truth.

Trained at Halifax Dance and the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, Lisa toured with CORPUS and KdD2 before returning to Halifax to co-found Mocean Dance. In 2005 she resumed independent work and in 2010 she and her collaborators launched Phin Performing Arts ( to support the creation of their home-grown dance and inter-disciplinary performance works, and the development of the community in which they work. Phin will premiere their first full-evening theatre work in October 2013.

Lisa is beneficiary of the 2009 and 2012 Kinetic Explorations Program, recipient of the 2010 Diane Moore Creation Scholarship, and her artistic work is supported by provincial and federal agencies. Her choreography has been performed across Canada, and was recently featured at the 2012 Canada Dance Festival at the National Ars Centre, Ottawa. Her 2009 work, Analogy for Solid Bones, was nominated for the 2010 Nova Scotia Lieutenant Governor’s Masterworks Award and prompted one reviewer to state, “Conservationists take note: If you want people to pay attention, partner with an artist.”
Lisa is the happy mother of an inquisitive and determined 2 year old.
